Ok so to be completely honest I have been dredging the idea of writing a blog ever since Tina told us we would have to do this so when I found out that I was writing a blog today I was very nervous . However when I found out I was writing about a food tasting my point of view changed. Even though I did not know exactly what the food tasting entailed I was excited to have Israeli food for the first time in years . Today I found out that the food tasting was a food scavenger hunt in the shook Tel Aviv which I was very excited for. I had been to the shook several times before when I visited Israel with my family and alway loved the food and the busy atmosphere. For the scavenger hunt I was put into a group with Ezrin, Shawna and Ori and we had the two Michals as our group leaders. The objective of the scavenger hunt was to taste a drink a sweet food and a salty food as well as talking at least 40 pictures of objects and people around us. For the drink our group went to a smoothie place were we meet this really fun guy who took a selfie with us. The smoothie itself was pretty good and would give it a 7/10. For our sweet food we stopped at a candy stand which was very fun because I got to just grab a bunch of candy and put it in a bag. The candy was very good and I would give it an 8/10. For our salty food my group stopped to get some malawach. At the stand we met another really cool guy who told us all that we should make aliyah to israel and played us a song about it. We also found out that he had been on a reality TV show which made sense because the food was very good. All the different toppings on the malawach made it very tasty and I enjoyed a lot 9/10.Overall I felt like this was a very fun activity that helped us learn about Israeli culture as well as meet the people as I was immersed in the rich environment around me . I hope that I will be able to return to the shook again someday soon and have more fun times like I had today.
