Today we walked up to a lookout over Israel’s northern borders with Lebanon, Syria and Jordan. We talked with Shai Shemesh, a speaker who has a Ph.D. from Haifa University in archeology and is retired from the IDF after 20 years of service. We learned about how protecting these borders is important to keeping Israelis safe. Because of terrorist groups, there will always be some tension in this region. It is like any other situation where there will be problems along the way but everyone realizes that they have to be able to work past it so they can still live a normal life and raise their families.
