Cleveland's Millstone Scholars
Calling serious-minded 8th-grade students . . . Embark on an epic journey of Israel education with the Cleveland Jewish Education Center of Cleveland! During the Fall Semester of 2024, take this opportunity to study the great ideas of Jewish thought and the history of modern Israel.
Participants will attend a total of Ten 1-hour sessions on Tuesdays, 7:00-8:00pm, beginning date TBA
The participants will join other serious-minded students to explore the remarkable story of the foundation of Israel, studying about the heroic men and women who created the state, and learning about those defining moments – like the recovery of Jerusalem in the Six-Day War – that changed Jewish history forever.

*Rabbi Scott B. Roland has served as Rabbi of Congregation Shaarey Tikvah in Beachwood, OH since July of 2016. He was ordained in 2013 by the Rabbinical School of Hebrew College in Newton, MA. Prior to and during rabbinical school, Rabbi Roland honed his skills as a Jewish educator and youth professional. He earned his BA from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and his Master’s in Jewish Education from Hebrew College.
Rabbi Roland is most passionate about Jewish pluralism and education. He strives to pass along a model of Jewish life that is living, relevant and walks the line between challenging and building confidence. Rabbi Roland strives to be an exemplar of Jewish life that is passionate and enthusiastic. He hopes to encourage Jewish living that is rooted just as much in one’s heart and soul as in our sacred rites and traditions.
