Day 4 (6.15.2022): Matkot by Ava Herman

Today was our last full day in Tel Aviv, so we went to the beach after our tour of Jaffa. We had one main reason for going to the beach which was to play the first annual icnext Matkot tournament.

For those who don’t know, Matkot is basically beach paddleball. You play by volleying the ball with a partner as many times as you can without the ball falling. The pairs that had hit the ball back and forth over 10 times moved on to the finals and the pair that had volleyed it the most time won it all.

After we finished the tournament, some continued to play Matkot while others went swimming in the Mediterranean and hung out in various other ways on the beach. It was the perfect way to have some fun and enjoy the very beautiful Mediterranean beach.
