Pre Mission Blog by Abbe Newman

I was given the difficult task of writing the first blog post of the Israel trip, so I guess I’ll start here: I’m sitting here, in my third year of icnext (something that wasn’t common until Covid) packing for the trip that I’m really going on this time. I subconsciously keep telling myself that any minute now it’s going to get cancelled and that at any minute something is going to happen to cause us not to go on this trip — because to be honest we really haven’t had the best of luck. I have been saying that I won’t believe we are actually going to Israel until we are there, but being just a couple days away I am starting to believe we are going to Israel for real — third time’s the charm. As the trip gets closer and closer I can feel my excitement building. I can’t wait to hear and learn from the speakers we met on Zoom during our seminars, and have actual conversations in person. But mostly I’m just excited to be back in Israel with my friends, because that is something that will always be enjoyable. Regardless of what we actually do in Israel I am confident that it will be fun, engaging, and that we will walk away having learned so much new information that will benefit us in our futures because Amnon is in charge. I’m so ecstatic and thrilled we are finally going in just a few days, and I cannot wait to see how the next 12 days unfold!
