Day 11 (6.11.2023): A visit to the High School in Kfar Manda by Elijah Kriwinsky

Today I visited an Arab village in the lower Galilee to meet with high school students. Ok to be honest, before we made it into the school I was in a bad mood because we had to wear long pants instead of shorts, but the experience was actually fun. We talked with a lot of the students who had just ended their school year about a range of topics from gun violence to how many cool scars we had. I know that in addition to that some people made more friends because of their love of soccer/ football. I can tell you that when I went into the school there were huge Arabic words I could not make sense of painted on the walls, but that really did not matter. I concluded from listening to conversations and various opinions, that in this case everyone there was just a teenager trying to make sense of school. About half way through the visit  we took a snack break which consisted of some mango juice and  a very delicious chocolate bar. I left the school feeling that people are people, teens are teens, and even though some things are different a lot tends to be the same.
